Why VolunteerFrom board members to coaches to score keepers, volunteers are the heart of AWLL. Countless community members, parents, teens, and many more, dedicate their time and talent to strengthen our community and league. Volunteering is rewarding and brings a sense of fulfillment. It's an escape from daily routines, opens up opportunities to meet new friends, expand your network and develop new skills.
Parent Involvement
All parents should help in one way or another to ensure the coaches, players and fans all have a good experience. Whether you're able to coach, umpire, be a team parent, help with concessions or help with drills or managing the dugout - it takes a team of adults to get it all done.
Who Can Volunteer
Anyone can volunteer - community members, grandparents, siblings, friends, neighbors! All parents of children involved are strongly encouraged to volunteer. As a parent volunteer, you have the opportunity to spend quality time with your child in a safe, fun-filled environment. There are a few age restrictions at Lynn Ary Park, Snack Shack volunteers must be 12 years of age, and announcers/scoreboard operators must be 16 years of age.
Opportunities
Most of our volunteer opportunities are outlined below. We also can use help with planning special events, fundraising, community outreach, serving on the board of directors, etc. If you would like to get involved in one of these areas, or if you have another talent you would like to share with AWLL, please reach out to our
Volunteer Coordinator.
Safety Training Requirements
All volunteers must complete required training, outlined on our
Safety Training webpage.
